Waterford Animal Welfare have highlighted a recent incident involving the dumping of dead dogs.
Following a call from a member of the public, the WAW visited an area off the N25 near Stradbally village in Co. Waterford.
Three deceased dogs were found dumped in vegetation.
They have being described as a black Patterdale type, a fawn Lurcher, and a black and brown Beagle type.
A microchip scan was conducted, but none of the dogs were microchipped, which could have helped in locating the owner or owners of the animals.
An Garda Siochana, the local authority and Waterford dog warden service have been made aware of the incident.
In a Facebook post, WAW said, “It’s upsetting to think that people are still out there capable of treating animals in this way. The circumstances of their deaths has not been determined as yet.”
They have asked members of the public with any information that would help this investigation to contact them. WAW can be contacted on 087 655 1152.
