‘Get Out’, ‘Get Out’ was an outraged homeowner’s response to an invasion of his garden by a hunting pack of hounds.

The incident took place in Kildimo, a village about 13km from Limerick city, on the 29 September last, during a fox cub hunting session by a local pack of hounds.

The homeowner recorded the hounds running in and out of his property.

The video shows hounds ran through a garden, disturbing flock of hens before running onto the public road into passing traffic. It is believed that hounds were hunting a fox which led them to invade the garden.

No hunt officials were present to control the hounds or remove the hounds from the property.

Heritage Minister Called Upon to Protect Irish Bird Heritage

Heritage Minister James Browne is being urged to remove all red and amber listed birds from the Open Seasons Order (Birds).

The Irish Council Against Blood Sports/ICABS said the Minister needs to act to save and protect Irish birds.

A recent High Court ruling found that the Heritage Minister’s predecessor (Darragh O’Brien), and the previous Minister of State for Nature (Malcolm Noonan), acted lawfully in removing red-listed pintail, pochard, scaup and goldeneye ducks from the annual shooting list knowns as the Open Season Order (Birds).

The National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC) had brought a Judicial Reviews case to the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order 2023, which made it unlawful to hunt the four species of duck after August 24, 2023.

The NARGC made that case the minister had acted unlawfully in making the order by failing to comply with a provision of the Wildlife Act 1976.

Greyhound Racing Attendance in Ireland Continues to Decline

Please Share: Animal News Ireland News Articles 2026

Greyhound racing attendance in 2025 records another decrease in public support.

Attendance at greyhound tracks around Ireland fell by 1,701 last year, recently released figures reveal.

Information obtained by Paul Murphy TD (Solidarity-People Before Profit) through a recent Dáil question reveal Greyhound Racing Ireland(GRI) statistics showing greyhound racing attendance rates were down at most Irish greyhound racing tracks in 2025.

Attempts to establish a factual attendance rate at Ireland’s greyhound tracks are hampered due to Greyhound Racing Ireland inclusion of 86,520 entries by those involved in racing at tracks, i.e. greyhound owners, greyhound trainers and bookmakers, as well as 441 entries by members of the press.

An analysis of the supplied information, excluding these entries, has revealed a downward spiral in greyhound racing attendance.
